Alidad is an energy financing and development specialist with deep experience in deal structuring, negotiation and execution. In addition to his role with Verus Energy, Alidad is COO of MMC Energy, a development company active in the European biomass sector. At MMC, Alidad is active in the development, management and acquisition functions.

Before joining MMC Alidad practised law as a Senior Associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP, where he focused on mergers & acquisitions in the energy sector.  Prior to that Alidad  was an Officer at the United Nations Compensation Commission in Geneva responsible for adjudicating claims against the Government of Iraq arising from its invasion of Kuwait.  Alidad was also Clerk to the Honorable Delissa Ridgway of the U.S. Court of International Trade.

Alidad obtained his Masters of Law from Cambridge University, Trinity Hall, his J.D. (Order of the Coif) from the University of Southern California and his B.A. (Hons) in Quantitative Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
